Information on what's happening at the Center

The Tietz Entrepreneurial Center is a result of generosity from the Donald Tietz Charitable Foundation.

Focus of the Center is to assist individuals interested in launching their own enterprise in Kossuth County or Community of Algona.

Shelly Brown, Tietz Entrepreneurial Coordinator and  the Small Business Center Director, Kelly McCarty, host a variety of activities and classes to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit and launch new enterprise.

Educational Opportunities include:

Smart Start Seminars
Money Matters class
E4D (Entrepreneur for a Day) for fifth/sixth grade students

  •    Operations (business structure and staffing)
  •    Action (financing and covering the basics)
  •    Research (product development and competitors)
SAIL - high school summer experience - Successful completion of the SAIL program results in a $500 Scholarship for the student to attend Iowa Lakes Community College upon high school graduation
